The new Xiaomi Redmi 9 is one of the best budget-phones of 2020. It packs a brawny 5020mAh battery and the present-day operating system. We are quite satisfied with the middling performance of the device. You are getting a ravishing smartphone with satisfactory specifications under Rs.20,000. However, there are certain flaws. The screen quality and camera performance are quite disgraceful. But having said that, you can barely find any other smartphone with adequate functions at this price.

RAVISHING DESIGN

Redmi 9

Do you think that the plastic body on a phone does not look premium? Not only you but we, ourselves thought the same. However, the brand-new Xiaomi Redmi 9 completely changed our perspective. The textured rear panel gives us a better hold of the device. Besides, it also allows us to use the device without any cases. To our surprise, we did not feel the plastic body cheap like in any other device.

The customary fingerprint scanner lives on the back which is very fast and reliable. However, it is placed just below the camera, so you will quite often think the camera sensor to be the fingerprint scanner. The 200gm big smartphone is very admirable. The old-fashioned headphone jack is placed on the bottom. Likewise, the infrared blaster lies on the top edge of the device.

SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE

The new Xiaomi Redmi 9 brags a huge 6.53-inch display. The display quality is average or slightly below average. The 1080 X 2340 resolution with 394PPI pixel density is quite decent for any mid-range device. Besides, it is an LCD FHD+ display. However, the dim brightness and unsatisfactory contrast is a big letdown. You can barely see your display under bright sunlight. The low price of the device has a certain consequence on the hardware specifications.

The MediaTek Helio G8 chipset is not up to the par when it comes to processing power. The device packs a memory of 3GB and a storage capacity of 64GB. The figure is not bad, but you can find other devices with better memory and storage at the same price. Having said that, the storage of the device is expandable.

The Redmi 9 incorporates a big 5020mAh battery. It takes a whole 48hours, for this battery to drain. With pretty good use of the device, the battery will last you for 10hours and 15minutes. Charging on the other hand is quite slow. The device comes out of the box with a 10W charger. It takes a total of 170minutes to charge the device from 0-100%. The Redmi 9 runs the present-day Android 10 with the MIUI interface.

REDMI 9 CAMERA

The economic Redmi 9 incorporates a 3-camera module. The 13-megapixel sensor is the primary camera. Besides, it has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor that is used for expansive photography. Likewise, the 5-megapixel macro sensor helps you capture a good close-up picture. The device also includes a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is mainly used for the background blur effect. We can see preferable detailing and color vibrant in the pictures. You will also find a good number of photographic and video graphic modes.

REDMI 9 PRICE IN NEPAL AND OUR FINAL VERDICT

The new Xiaomi Redmi 9 costs you Rs.20,000 in Nepal. As mentioned earlier, the device packs a memory of 3GB and a ROM of 6GB. The Redmi 9 offers you several functions and functionalities. Besides, the device has a very appealing design. It will feel like a premium device on your hand.

However, certain factors could have been improved. Firstly, the 3GB RAM. In this modern generation, we can find ample devices with 6GB of RAM at the same price. Besides, the display brightness is very disappointing. We were also expecting a better camera performance. If you can invest a few bucks more then we highly recommend you to get the Redmi K30 Pro instead. But if you are looking for a reasonable smartphone with goodish features, then you can probably go for the Redmi 9.
