#sikles #kahphuchelake

If you have never seen an avalanche before, this is the trip for you. Kahphuche Glacial Lake, about 8-10 hrs away from the beautiful Sikles Village, is Nepal’s lowest Glacial lake situated at an altitude of around 2500 metres. On this two part series, we’ll explore the culturally rich Gurung village of Sikles, trek one of our most adventurous trails ever, watch numerous avalanches upclose, spend a couple of days in Huwu and get lost in the beauty of Kahphuche Glacial Lake.

This has become one of our best trips so far because of all the fun and wonderful experience along with the company of Maila Dai and Lalit Bhanja and the people of Sikles. The best part, it is fairly a short duration trek. Sikles is only 3-4 hrs from Pokhara, and the lake can be reached after 8-10 hrs from Sikles. We could have completed this within 4-5 days although we planned to visit Kori Dada as well but because of heavy snow, we have postponed it for next time.

We are very grateful to Samsung (Galaxy s10) for sponsoring this trip and everyone who supported us in this amazing journey.

We are always looking for places that aren’t famous or explored enough, but are lacking exposure and promotion. If you know of any such places or your village/hometown has such locations, do let us know. We’ll be more than happy to visit and collaborate with you to promote such destinations.
